The World Digital Library (WDL) project has been in development since 2005. Using ground breaking technology and support, the WDL seeks to make available to the world digital access to earths most significant documents. Completely free and multilingual, it presents the development of printed thought from its earliest inceptions, and in the original documents, books, manuscripts, photos, and film.

Now online, the project plans to grow as greater collections become available for the free access of the people of the earth. Completely free of ads or logins, the WDL is one of the coolest sites out there, and a reminder of what the internet should be.
